1. Preamble
This Cookie Policy describes in detail the cookies and similar technologies used by the ZenBookr platform — on the domains zenbookr.app, app.zenbookr.app, book.zenbookr.app — operated by Marco D'Arminio (also «ZenBookr» or «we»), as Data Controller.

2. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites send and store on the user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone), then re-transmit on subsequent visits. They recognize the device, save preferences and collect statistical information.
Together with cookies, similar technologies may be used: pixels, web beacons, browser local storage, device identifiers. For simplicity, we use the term «cookies» for these too.
2.1 First-party and third-party cookies
- First-party: set by the domain you are visiting (zenbookr.app)
- Third-party: set by different domains (e.g. Google, Stripe). For each we provide links to their notices below.
2.2 Session and persistent cookies
- Session: deleted on browser close
- Persistent: remain on device until expiration or manual deletion
3. Categories of cookies used
3.1 Technical / strictly necessary cookies
Indispensable for Platform operation and to provide the services you requested. Under art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, they do not require prior consent.

3.2 Analytics (statistical) cookies
Used to collect aggregated and anonymized information about Platform usage to help us improve the service.
We use Google Analytics 4 in a manner compliant with Garante guidance (IP anonymization, no remarketing, Consent Mode v2 with explicit consent). Without consent, GA4 is not initialized.

3.3 Marketing / profiling cookies
Used to show personalized advertising or measure marketing campaign effectiveness. Require your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
⚠️ Current status
We currently do not use active marketing/profiling cookies. The site code includes a placeholder for Facebook Pixel (commented out) but it is disabled. If we activate marketing cookies, we will update this page and request new consent via the banner.
3.4 Functional cookies (preferences)
Improve experience by remembering choices (e.g. language, theme). For ZenBookr, these are stored via the technical cookies described in 3.1 (zb_theme) or via localStorage without consent requirement.
4. How to manage your cookie preferences
4.1 Cookie banner
On first access we show a banner that lets you:
- Accept all cookies
- Reject all non-necessary cookies (with the same visibility and emphasis as accept, as required by the Garante)
- Customize by category (analytics on/off, marketing on/off)
You can modify your preferences at any time by clicking «Manage cookies» in the footer.
4.2 Browser settings

5. Consequences of rejecting cookies
- Technical/necessary cookies: blocking them at browser level may cause some Platform features not to function (e.g. inability to log in, lost booking cart).
- Analytics cookies: rejecting them does not limit functionality. It only reduces our ability to improve the service.
- Marketing cookies: no functional limitation. You will still see ads but less relevant to your interests.

7. Cookies and minors
Consistent with our Privacy Policy, ZenBookr does not knowingly provide services to minors under 16. We do not use cookies designed to profile minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware of processing concerning a minor under 16, deletion can be requested at privacy@zenbookr.app.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect new cookies or technologies, regulatory changes or contractual changes with suppliers. For material changes (e.g. new categories of cookies) we will show the consent banner again so you can review your preferences.
For minor changes, we publish the update on this page with an updated «Last updated» date.
