Install ZenBookr as an app on your phone (or computer)

How to add ZenBookr to your phone home screen in 30 seconds: iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, iPad, desktop Chrome/Edge/macOS Safari. No App Store, no downloads.

2 minutes5 steps

ZenBookr runs directly in your browser, but you can install it as an app on your phone or computer with a couple of taps. No App Store, no hundreds-of-megabytes download: it weighs a handful of KB and is ready in 30 seconds.

Why install instead of using the browser?

  • Dedicated icon on your home screen — 1-tap access, no more typing the URL
  • Full screen — no address bar stealing space, feels exactly like a native app
  • Push notifications for your appointments and reminders (if you allow them)
  • Offline access to pages you already visited — useful on a subway or with poor signal
  • Auto-login — no need to sign in at every launch

Technically it's called a PWA (Progressive Web App): the installable version of a website. Works on all modern operating systems.

1Open app.zenbookr.app in Safari.

Step 1 of 5

The ZenBookr app (for professionals and clients) installs from app.zenbookr.app. On Android the automatic banner does not always appear — the reliable way is via the browser menu (three dots, top right).

Step-by-step guide

  1. iPhone — Safari (iOS 16.4 or later)

Open app.zenbookr.app using Safari — NOT Chrome, NOT Firefox: on iPhone, only Safari can install PWAs. Same domain for both professionals and clients — it's a single app.

    1. Tap the Share icon ⬆️ at the bottom of the screen (the square with an up arrow)
    2. Scroll the menu down until you find "Add to Home Screen" (icon: a square with a + sign)
    3. Tap "Add" at the top right
    4. The ZenBookr icon appears on your home screen — tap it to open the app

Important for iPhone: the first time you open the installed app, allow notifications if you want appointment reminders. If it doesn't ask immediately, go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → ZenBookr → Allow Notifications.

  2. Android — Chrome (or Samsung Internet, Edge)

Open app.zenbookr.app in Chrome. On Android, most browsers support PWAs.

    1. You usually see an "Install app" banner at the bottom — tap it and confirm. Skip to steps below only if the banner doesn't appear.
    2. If no banner: tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of the browser
    3. Choose "Install app" (or "Add to Home screen" on older Chrome versions)
    4. Confirm with "Install"
    5. The icon appears on your home screen or in the app drawer — Android notifies you

Samsung tip: on Samsung Internet the option is in ☰ menu → "Add page to" → "Home screen". On Xiaomi/MIUI the process is identical to Chrome.

  3. iPad — Safari

On iPad the steps are the same as iPhone Safari, with a small layout change:

    1. The Share icon ⬆️ sits at the top right (not at the bottom like iPhone)
    2. Tap Share → "Add to Home Screen"
    3. Tap "Add"

On iPad in landscape you can use ZenBookr in Split View multitasking alongside other apps (e.g. keep the native calendar open next to it). Drag the icon from the dock to activate.

  4. Desktop — Chrome, Edge, Brave

On desktop too, you can install ZenBookr as a standalone app — opens in a dedicated window, no browser tabs.

    1. Open app.zenbookr.app in Chrome (or Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera — any Chromium browser)
    2. To the right of the address bar, look for the "Install" 💻 icon (a small computer with an arrow)
    3. Click the icon → confirm "Install"
    4. The app opens in a separate window. Find it in the Start menu (Windows) or Launchpad/Spotlight (Mac)

Alternatively: browser ⋮ menu → "Install ZenBookr" or "Apps" → "Install this site as an app".

  5. Mac — Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or later)

From macOS Sonoma, Safari finally supports PWA installation like Chrome:

    1. Open app.zenbookr.app in Safari
    2. Top menu: File → Add to Dock…
    3. Confirm the name ("ZenBookr") and click "Add"
    4. The icon appears in the Dock — click to open in a standalone window

If you have macOS Ventura (13) or older, Safari does not support PWA: use Chrome or Edge following the previous step.

FAQ

"I don't see 'Add to Home Screen' in Safari iPhone"

Three possible causes:

  • You're in private browsing — Safari doesn't install PWAs in private tabs. Exit private mode and reopen
  • iOS too old — needs iOS 16.4 or later. Go to Settings → General → Software Update
  • You're not using Safari — the option exists ONLY in Safari on iPhone, not in Chrome/Firefox/Brave (Apple restriction)

"Firefox iOS doesn't work"

Correct: Firefox iOS does not support PWA installation. On iPhone you must use Safari. On Android, Firefox supports PWAs since version 79+ (⋮ menu → "Install").

"The installed app never updates"

ZenBookr checks for updates automatically on every launch. If you suspect it's stuck: close the app from the multitasking screen, reopen. In rare cases, uninstall the icon from home and reinstall following the guide.

"Can I uninstall the app later?"

Yes, anytime:

  • iPhone/iPad: long-press the icon → "Remove App" → "Delete App"
  • Android: long-press the icon → "Uninstall" or drag to the trash at top
  • Desktop: open the app → ⋮ menu top → "Uninstall ZenBookr"

Uninstalling does NOT delete your ZenBookr account or data — you can keep using the website from the browser as before.

"Do I have to log in again after installing?"

No. If you were logged in to the browser before installing, the app inherits the session. If you were a guest, it asks to sign up/log in at first launch.

What changes after installing

Once installed, the experience is very similar to a native app downloaded from the App Store:

  • Opens full-screen, no browser address bar
  • Dedicated icon on home and in multitasking
  • Can send push notifications (if you allow at first launch)
  • Works offline for already-visited pages
  • Auto-updates in the background

The only difference from an App Store app: it doesn't take significant space — installed ZenBookr is less than 5 MB on your device.
