Receive notifications and reminders

How to configure push, email, SMS notifications and calendar sync. All reminders ZenBookr sends to never miss appointments.

ZenBookr automatically sends reminders before your appointments. Notifications drastically reduce "I forgot the appointment". You can configure channels, frequency, types.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open Settings > Notifications

    Login on book.zenbookr.app > profile icon > Settings > Notifications.

    You'll see 3 sections: channels (where), categories (what), frequency (when).

  2. Activate preferred channels

    3 channels available:

    • Push notification (browser/PWA): instant, free. Requires browser consent.
    • Email: always on by default
    • SMS: for 2h reminders and urgent changes

    Suggested: Push + Email always, SMS only for critical.

  3. Configure notification categories

    For each type, choose channels: booking confirmation, 24h reminder, 2h reminder, modifications by pro, cancellation, payment received, home service tracking, promotions (GDPR opt-in only).

  4. Authorize browser push

    Push notifications are the most effective free channel:

    1. From Notifications > Push, click "Activate push"
    2. Browser asks permission → click "Allow"
    3. ZenBookr sends test notification

    If you installed ZenBookr as PWA, push works even with browser closed.

  5. Sync with external calendar

    Every confirmed appointment includes a downloadable .ics file in the confirmation email. Click on the attachment to auto-import into Google/Apple/Outlook Calendar — shows your ZenBookr appointment alongside other events with native calendar reminders.

    Roadmap: Subscription URL for live sync (modifications and cancellations propagated real-time) is coming. For now each confirmation/modification generates a new .ics to import manually.

  6. Disable promotions if unwanted

    ZenBookr doesn't spam. Only "marketing" emails: monthly newsletter (opt-in), promotions from your favorited pros, new pro suggestions in your area.

    Disable all marketing: Settings > Notifications > Promotions → toggle OFF. Immediate per GDPR.

FAQ

"Not receiving push notifications"

1) Verify browser not incognito, 2) check browser settings → notifications permission for zenbookr.app, 3) try reinstall PWA from home screen.

"Emails going to SPAM"

Add noreply@zenbookr.app to address book. For Gmail: open SPAM, click "Not spam".
