Configure payments with Stripe

Setup Stripe Connect in 5 minutes to receive client payments directly on your bank account. Identity verification, tax data, payouts.

ZenBookr uses Stripe Connect for payments: client money goes directly to your bank account. ZenBookr never touches the funds. No "ZenBookr wallet", no waiting: automatic payout every 2-7 days.

To activate payments you complete Stripe onboarding (identity + tax verification). Average time: 5-7 minutes with documents ready.

What you'll need

  • Valid ID document (passport, driver's license)
  • Tax code / SSN (national)
  • VAT number (if you have business registration)
  • IBAN of bank account for payouts
  • Smartphone for SMS verification

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open Payments section

    From Settings Tab (⚙️ bottom right icon), open Payments. You'll see banner "Activate payments to start earning" with "Configure Stripe" button.

    Click button. You'll go to official Stripe page hosted on connect.stripe.com (normal — Stripe needs your data for banking compliance, not us).

  2. Enter personal data

    Stripe will ask:

    • Business type: Individual / Company
    • Country: pre-selected
    • Personal data: name, DOB, tax code, residence address
    • Phone number for SMS verification

    Important: data must exactly match your ID document. Errors = verification rejected = payments blocked.

  3. Verify identity with document

    Stripe requires ID document upload (passport or driver's license, front + back where applicable). Photos clear, well-lit, no cuts.

    Verification is automatic 80% of cases (1-5 min). Otherwise goes to manual Stripe review (12-48h). Email when complete.

  4. Enter IBAN for payouts

    Insert IBAN of account to receive client money. EU IBANs accepted (IT, DE, AT, FR, etc.). Only checking accounts — no prepaid cards.

    Stripe verifies IBAN with micro-deposit (€0.01-€0.99, you confirm amount). Takes 1-3 business days.

    Payout frequency: weekly by default (Monday). Changeable to "Daily" (T+2) or "Manual".

  5. Enter tax data (VAT number)

    If you have VAT registration:

    • VAT number
    • Business name (if different from personal)
    • Tax regime: check with your accountant
    • Business activity code (national code, e.g. ATECO in Italy)

    Without VAT and operating as occasional service provider, select "Individual" without VAT.

  6. Configure terms and refund policy

    Stripe asks 2 texts:

    • Statement descriptor: appears on client's card statement (max 22 chars). E.g. "ZENBOOKR-SALON-MARIA"
    • Refund policy: by default applies your configured cancellation policy

    Leave defaults if no special requirements.

  7. Verify onboarding completion

    Back to ZenBookr: Payments page should show "✅ Stripe active" + dashboard with available balance, next payout date, transaction history, "Go to Stripe Dashboard" link.

    If you see "⏳ Verification in progress" or "❌ Document required", click "Complete verification" to provide what's missing on Stripe.

FAQ

"How much are Stripe fees?"

Standard EU: 1.4% + €0.25 per transaction (EU/SEPA cards). For non-EU 2.9% + €0.25. ZenBookr adds no markup.

"When do I receive money?"

First payout: 7 days after first transaction (Stripe holds for initial anti-fraud). Subsequent payouts: weekly (default) or daily. Transfer to account in 1-2 business days.

"Can I use ZenBookr without Stripe (cash only)?"

Yes. Services can be "pay on-site" instead of "pay online". You lose pre-deposit benefits (no-show fee). Configurable per service.
